Core PE is the study of complex and demanding physical activities. Students get involved in a range of activities that develop personal fitness and promote an active, healthy lifestyle.
Course Summary
Core PE: Students will develop a range of tactics and strategies, develop their technique and improve their performance, analyse their performances compared to previous ones and demonstrate improvement to achieve their personal best, take part in competitive sports and activities outside school through community links or sports clubs and they will be encouraged to work in a team, building on trust and developing skills to solve problems. They will do this through; team games including football, netball, rugby, basketball, rounders, cricket and handball; individual games such as badminton; athletics; trampolining; OAA.

GCSE PE equips students with the knowledge, understanding, skills and values they need to be able to develop and maintain their performance in physical activities. Students will also gain understanding of how physical activities benefit health, fitness & wellbeing.
